Compositional Quilting/ DRAWING Supply List
6 hour drawing/wholecloth design class

Required

  • 45”x45” LIGHT Solid Fabric for your whole cloth quilt design.  Your fabric should be cut, pressed and squared BEFORE class. 
  • INCLUDED IN YOUR KIT IS A BLUE WATER ERASABLE PEN/ IF YOU CHOOSE TO BRING A DARK FABRIC TO WORK WITH YOU NEED TO BRING A MARKING TOOL THAT WILL SHOW UP ON YOUR FABRIC.
  • Spray water bottle
  • Old cloth or towel
  • Sketchbook/ pen and pencil for note taking
  • 3”x18” straight plastic ruler, omnigrid or similar (not a longarm ruler)
  • 6”x1” straight plastic ruler. omnigrid or similar (not a longarm ruler)
  • 6” or 6.5” square plastic ruler, omnigrid or similar (not a longarm ruler)
  • Circle templates for marking:  I recommend Tailor mix n match templates for quilters   

    
Optional templates:

  • Circle Templates  I have invested in a lot of circle templates, which I use regularly.  They can be costly, for that reason, this is an optional supply.   We’ll briefly discuss templates in class.  At our lunch break some students may choose to purchase templates in the vendor mall.   In class I use a set of nested circle templates made by Quilters Rule (QR-CT2) Set of 11 templates, sizes 1.5”-6.5”- 1/4” wide for stitching around.  I also use the larger set 1.5” -11.5” Set of 12 (QR-CT6)
  • I will have my circle templates for you to share/use in class.

  • $20 Kit required/purchase day of class. Cash only.

      Required:
  • TWO -45”x45” Pieces of LIGHT neutral solid fabric. One Piece is for your top and the other is for your back. Batting and thread will generously be provided for you.
  • INCLUDED IN YOUR KIT IS A BLUE WATER ERASABLE PEN/ IF YOU CHOOSE TO BRING A DARK FABRIC TO WORK WITH YOU NEED TO BRING A MARKING TOOL THAT WILL SHOW UP ON YOUR FABRIC
  • Sketchbook/Pen and Pencil for note taking
  • 6”x1” straight plastic ruler, omnigrid or similar (not a long arm ruler)
  • 3”x18” straight plastic ruler, omnigrid or similar (not a long arm ruler)
  • Square plastic ruler, something between 6 and 8” square/(not a long arm ruler)
  • Straight Long-Arm ruler I use a 12”x3” straight ruler that came with my machine.
